New Opening: Don't Tell Dad
An anticipated new arrival brings expertly-made pastries and considered dishes to Queen's Park

Queen's Park has always had some great offerings - but the opening of Don't Tell Dad has created quite the buzz.
The new Lonsdale Road bakery and restaurant is the brainchild of Daniel Land, one of the co-founders of Coco di Mama and a local himself. Visitors can enjoy expertly-made pastries and breads to eat in or takeaway (artichoke, sage and Lancashire Poacher Pain Suisse anyone?) created by head baker Keren Sternberg, formerly of HIDE and Layla on Portobello Road; while the restaurant kicks into gear from the afternoon, with chef Luke Frankie preparing seasonal plates that might currently include crab tart with saffron mayonnaise and watercress; monk cheeks, cauliflower and spiced butter; and roast lamb, celeriac and cavolo nero.
For the music, Playlister has created a collection touching on instrumental grooves, vintage and modern soul and boogie during the day, with globally-influenced organic electronica come evening. Pop in for a pastry and to hear the sound of Don't Tell Dad!
